The lector is instituted to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel.  He may also announce the intentions for the Universal Prayer and, in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Psalm between the readings.

Ministry of Proclaimers of the Word of God in Spanish

Purpose: Proclaiming the Word of God is a Divine Mission, and this dignity cannot be exercised by someone who simply reads it well, if he has not first penetrated the content of this Word, if he does not live the Message of this Word.

Vision: When we speak of proclaiming the Word of God, we are speaking of communicating what God wants to say to his people, what the Lord, creator and Father of all, wants to put in the minds and hearts of those who hear it, always with the aim that this Word produces fruits of eternal life.

Mission: The Ministry of Proclaimers has as its mission to proclaim the word of God in all liturgical celebrations. This ministry is made up of a group of people who have responded to God's call to proclaim his Word to the assembly in all liturgical celebrations of the parish.
